iTunes Plus? Don't Bother
At least not for the moment. For regular readers of this blog I'll have to admit this has been one of the most disappointing of Apple's upgrades. Simply put, the store is completely malfunctioning. As I've scanned the Discussion forums the problem is systemic and world-wide. One truly sad thing is that people all over the world are literally trying to give to Apple money and they simply can not. Coupled with the most recent Quicktime upgrade debacle makes this a frustrating time indeed.
For the record Apple is aware of the Quicktime bug which causes perfect QT videos or video podcasts to break and suggests using Firefox. Can you believe that?

Gates and Jobs to Share A Stage
Gates and Jobs to Share A Stage: "Rob wrote with a link to a Computer Business Review online article, which reports that Microsoft chairman Bill Gates and Apple chief Steve Jobs will make a joint appearance at a future technologies conference in Carlsbad, California. The event is expected to last a little more than an hour, and the two computer industry magnates are expected to reflect on their pasts - while theorizing on the future. '[WSJ Tech columnist] Walt Mossberg, a co-producer of the conference who will interview the execs on-stage along with colleague Kara Swisher, said they simply invited Gates and Jobs to do the interview ... [Mossberg] declined to give any color about the questions he and Swisher are preparing, or any additional information. Most likely, Gates and Jobs will use the occasion to do some friendly sparring on their polar-opposite philosophies on personal computing. Jobs may bang on about the benefits of a software-hardware approach, while Gates may rattle off the joys of partnering with hardware partners.'

Cool Plugin for Quicksliver
Filed under: Productivity, Freeware, Internet Tools
Todoist is yet another online "task manager" / todo list that lends itself to the whole GTD craze. Now Jonathan Johnson has hacked together a Quicksilver plugin that integrates with Todoist so that you can easily add entries to your online Todoist Projects. Although it lacks a lot of the functionality of the Stikkit Quicksilver plugin we mentioned earlier (in particular it only allows you to add, not edit, entries), nonetheless it could be a handy thing for those who prefer the nicely streamlined Todoist interface.
The Todoist Quicksilver plugin is a free download from NilObject.
