Is this a good thing? I'm just not sure it is. -TG

Best Buy stores fitted with snazzy new Apple displays (photos): "Electronics specialty retailer Best Buy, which announced in April that it would be expanding its Mac pilot program to about 200 stores, has begun fitting some of its higher profile locations with radically improved Apple store-within-a-store concepts. I did not see if the article or any comments noted if Apple will have an Apple employee for these new "Mini Stores" or if they will be run by Best Buy employees. My experience with Best Buy employees is the same reason why Apple pulled its stock from retail stores: the employees bad mouth the Apple computer products. However, my nephew in Saginaw, MI just bought a 24" iMac from Best Buy and he said the Best Buy employees steered him that route and told him it was the best computer out there. They did however say nothing baout Apple Care, but pushed Best Buy's warranty program.

I also do not know if Apple will place ASCs (or some such) in the Best Buy stores. If not, perhpas it would be well for MUG members to make occasional visits to try and be helpful.
